Leadership Training
Upon completion of training, participants (individuals and groups) use their unique talents in an immersive cross-cultural mission and leadership experience in ways that transform not only their own lives, but also lives in villages and towns around the globe.
We call this service experience ImpactQuest®.
ImpactQuest teaches participants how to function effectively in multi-cultural and cross-cultural settings and promote lasting transformation that will lead them to live mission-engaged lives. Participants receive training and gain expanded self-knowledge, while learning
key elements of:
- Servant Leadership
- Interpersonal Communication
- Important Intercultural Competencies (e.g. cognitive, affective and behavioral)
The location of these service experiences is determined through strategic partnerships with localized organizations around the world that ImpactLives has developed solid, long-term serving relationships.
ImpactLives™ strongly believes this experience is comprehensive and does not offer any of these components individually.
ImpactQuest Structure:
Participants engage in “equipping” sessions including:
- Assessments
- Discussion and Coaching Sessions
- Cross-Cultural Training and Teaching Segments
- Safety and Technical Skills (matched to their future service experience - such as construction, medical or education)
Participants experience a short-term humanitarian service experience designed to meet one of the five basic human needs:
- Shelter (building homes)
- Education
- Medical
- Food
- Water
These service experiences may take place locally, nationally or internationally. We have found that these trips are most effective when the participants are taken outside of their normal routines for at least one week.
During the service learning experience, participants use their newfound knowledge from the equipping and training sessions to meet personal objectives (including leadership) and to improve relationships centered on working with others. ImpactLives staff members are readily available during the trips to coach, teach and work with participants in these areas.
Near the end of the service learning experience, participants spend focused time preparing a personal application plan. This plan, along with coaching and teaching from ImpactLives staff members, will help the participant figure out how to use the insights gained to prepare them for “everyday” life back home. Often, action plans include an initiative to continue their experience by serving their local communities.
